7.3. Symptom Management: Cardiac


Symptoms of cardiac disease are quite rare in pediatric patients, but  there are some who have heart valve insufficiency and will require medications. It is possible that a pediatric patient would have symptomatic Bradycardia or Tachycardia, although that again would be quite unusual. Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy happens in about 1% of pediatric adolescents, usually looking at late adolescence.
